Because every person deserves more than just a place to live—they deserve a place to belong

Greendown Trust is a registered charity and a non-profit making organisation founded in 1971. We provide high-quality sheltered housing accommodation in Yorkshire.

Objectives

Greendown Trust care and accommodation

As a not-for-profit charitable trust, our objectives are rooted in compassion, community, and providing a purposeful service. We exist to provide high-quality sheltered housing and support to older and vulnerable individuals—those who need not just a place to live, but a place to feel safe, valued, and connected.

We believe everyone deserves to age with dignity, independence, and joy. Our approach goes beyond bricks and mortar. We see the whole person—their physical health, emotional wellbeing, social connections, and spiritual needs—and we work to meet them with empathy, respect, and genuine care.

We aim to ensure that every penny we receive is reinvested into our services, homes, and communities. There are no shareholders—only stakeholders in human wellbeing. Whether it’s improving facilities, funding wellbeing programmes, offering personalised support, or tackling loneliness and isolation, we use our resources to enhance lives, not profit from them.

Our work is guided by the belief that housing is more than shelter—it’s a foundation for fulfilment. We will work in partnership, collaboration, and with an unwavering commitment to quality and kindness, we aim to build inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
